The Beatles drummer Ringo, his wife Barbara Bach and 60's rocker Kim Gardiner want their money back from a well-known travel agent for a trip they booked to the moon.

The deal was struck 15 years ago when the Starrs were still drinking - both are now recovering alcoholics - and they put £300 deposits for the first shuttle to ferry passengers on the 440,000-mile round trip. "We heard nothing so I contacted the travel firm and told them we wanted our money back," says Gardiner, who runs Hollywood's Cat and Fiddle pub.

They couldn't trace the paper-work, but I have now found the receipts and I am going back for the money". "Ringo and Barbara want theirs back, too. It's the principal of the thing."

The folk at Thomas Cook say it wasn't them: "We were taking names of potential space travellers, but no deposits and we closed the list when it got to 20,000," says a spokesman for the firm.

Thieves have snatched two bronze busts worth £50,000 from ex-Beatle George Harrison's garden. They cut then from stone pillars after beating hi-tech security and 10ft walls in a daytime raid on the £10 million estate.

George, 54, fears the bronzes - of two monks, one smiling one sad - will be meltind for scrap. Police dashed round after being alerted by an alarm linked to their HQ 400 yards from George's mansion at Henley, Oxen.

They searched the 60-acre grounds but the gand had fled. A pal said: "George wants the busts back, no questions asked".

Five pages of unpublished notes, scrawled by Beatle John Lennon about his 1971 album Imagine, are expected to fetch up to £25,000 at auction.

The notes full of crossings-out on yellow lined paper, include simple observations. Of the track Oh My Love, he wrote: "Written with Yoko... a joy to write and a joy to sing and record."

The lots are going under the hammer at Christie's in New York next month.
